Thoughts after watching Get Out a second time

A movie is good whenever you can't stop thinking about it, when it becomes the center of conversations between your friends, co-workers and classmates. That is what the movie Get Out was for me and our class this semester. I can't find a better movie that summarizes the dynamic between white greed and black resilience. After I watched the movie for the first time earlier this year, I left the movie theater hotter than a summer day in Arizona. As I hurried to my car, I carefully dodged any glances from Caucasian eyes. I felt so weird because for the record, I love white people. I love all people. I'm sure the white greeter at the door is still confused to this day.

The best thing I liked about the movie the second time around was all the other things I didn't catch the first time. For example, I didn't notice all the stares from family during the annual "auction". It didn't matter where Chris went, eyes followed him, meticulously appraising every inch of his body.
